Upd8!!!! They did surgery on him last night. Took them 5 hours...
But it was a success! :D :D :D :D :D
His condition has stabilized, according to my mom. He *should* be okay. The issus: He's drooling a bit and his left side is paralyzed, but my mom says that's normal right after a stroke, and he *should* recover. About the paralysis: See, the problem is that there are apparently a bunch of blood clots in his brain. The amount of mobility he'll recover is contingent on the number of those they can remove. My mom says they should be able to remove most if not all, tho...they sent him to a very good neurology center that has tons of the most advanced equipment, and they have a little thingamajig there that can remove clots with a minimum of trouble. Now, things *could* still go wrong at this point, we can't tell for sure, but overall, things are looking much better.
tl;dr: We're not out of the woods yet, but we're getting there :D Thanks for all your prayers and support, my friends! It helped a lot, it did :D Keep it comin, though, at this point we still need all the luck we can get... |

Just finished reading one of the more famous pieces in my lil' section of the FE portion of FFn.net, "Hammer of Terrascars." It wasn't the best thing ever, I have to admit--lots of grammar/spelling nitpicks I would make, and I didn't entirely approve of all the changes the author made. However, he DEFINITELY put a LOT of work into it, and it deserves its place as one of the most well-known FE fanfics, IMO. It's a pity I only started to get 'really' into FE fanfiction long after this story was written (it was finished in 2005). As a historian, being part of the cohort that experienced it as it was being written would have been quite the experience. But, ah well...I think the author has long since moved on from FE fanfiction. I wonder if he'd mind a small revuu from a Internet wanderer...
